Stood under the south gopuram at 6am while the temple woke up — bells, jasmine, filter coffee from the stall outside. 14 gopurams and I still couldn't stop looking up. Go early, the stone floor is cool and the crowds are thin.

Learnt to roast and grind Chettinad masala from scratch — kalpasi, marathi mokku, star anise. My pepper chicken finally tastes like my paati's. The mansion kitchen alone is worth the trip!

Walked the estate rows at 7,000 ft while the mist rolled off the Nilgiris. Tasted six teas side by side — the frost tea is unreal. Pro tip: carry a light jacket even in April.

The Big Temple at golden hour. 1,000 years old and the vimana still throws no shadow at noon (or so the guide insists 😄). The Chola frescoes inside are a quiet marvel.

Paddled through 4,000+ tiny canals in the Pichavaram mangroves. Kingfishers everywhere, zero engine noise. Our guide knew every channel by name.
