Kodaikanal Lake is a man-made, roughly star-shaped lake created in 1863 under Sir Vere Henry Levinge, then Collector of Madurai. The road around it is about five kilometres long and the water sits at roughly 2,100 metres. Rides are 30 minutes. Pedal boats are booked per boat; the row boat comes with an oarsman. There are no motor boats on Kodai lake. Mist often rolls in after 3 pm — the morning sessions are the clearest. Demo listing: the operator account is a Payanam demo and prices are illustrative.
